St. Michael’s Elementary School, in Burnaby BC, launched a kindergarten to Grade 7 Learning in Depth program in September, after getting one of 15 Innovation Partnerships grants. The opening ceremony took place on September 23, 2016.
Caterina Kennedy (Principal): ‘Through the innovation project, we were able to implement the Learning in Depth Program across all grade levels. By doing this, the expectation is that the type of independent inquiry based learning that will happen during LiD time will transfer over to all other areas of student learning. We found that Learning in Depth fits very well with the redesigned curriculum and, in particular, in developing the core competencies in our students.’
