We are happy to announce the appointment of our first CORIX Research Assistant. Ms. Carolina López is a MEd student (Imaginative Education Cohort 2013-2015) in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. She will help us in developing the LiD program in a variety of ways. Recently she worked with the IERG on a research project implementing our Imaginative Literacy Program https://ierg.ca/ILP/ in Mexico, analyzing its applicability and effectiveness.

During her appointment as a Corix Research Assistant, Ms. Lopez will be working with others involved with the LiD program on the following projects:

1. organizing and disseminating the resources we and cooperating teachers have already developed for optimizing the implementation of LiD, and making these widely available on our website;
2. disseminating brochures that describe how the LiD program can be used to benefit the education of gifted and talented students and also how it can benefit those designated as “special needs” and “at risk” students;
3. exploring how LiD has become picked up and disseminated in those countries where it is expanding most successfully; based on the results, devising a strategy that we can deploy in two or three other countries to see how we might stimulate wider implementation of LiD;
4. drafting a new Frequently Asked Questions document that addresses the commonest reasons administrators have given for not implementing the LiD program.

 

The company generously donated $250,000 towards an endowment for our Learning in Depth program.
